"Read this post if you want to live"

Tenuous link to Terminator in my post title this week as I've finished assembling my squad of Terminators with thunder-hammers and storm-shields and I think they're looking pretty good!

Although they are all now put together, I still need to apply quite a bit of green stuff to fill gaps and to sculpt details and blend the Tartaros and Prosecutor kits together a little more.

It's also the 1st time I've used the etched brass from Forgeworld and I'm pleased at how the application has turned out, they've really made the difference on the shields.

The one thing that I really wanted to achieve with this unit, was to get some dynamic poses which are generally difficult with Terminators as they are meant to be walking tanks. I think I've managed to capture a sense of movement, but without making them seem too light on their feet......mission accomplished!!

As my pinning material for the Terminators didn't arrive until the end of last week, I got on and assembled my 3rd company captain based on Commander Eldolon. Again he needs a ton of green stuffing (and I need to raid my bits box a bit harder to find him a back pack) but hes looking pretty good so far!

So for next week I'm going to be putting my Minotaurs aside as I'm getting together with my gaming buddies to sit down for our newly started semi-serious (mostly ridiculous) Pathfinder game. I need to get my character finished up.

I'll leave this here to give you a clue to my character....all will be revealed next week ;-)

New Year, New Blog

Hello and welcome! 2015 was a very busy year for me, moving house and then renovating it left me with no time for any hobby (boooo!!). I'm determined that 2016 is going to be different and to help me out I've decided to start this blog to post weekly updates on my hobby goings on.

So what have I started 2016 with? Well there's nothing like a bowl of resin punch to get the new years party started!! This recipe contains a Forgeworld Stormeagle, Tartaros terminators, Minotaur shoulder pads and Lord Commander Eldolon, all of which will be going into my Minotaurs space marine army.

1st up are a squad of Tartaros terminators, these guys are going to be a little special as I'm converting them with some Stormcast Eternal Prosecutors to create a squad armed with thunder-hammers and storm-shields as bodyguards for the Minotaurs chaptermaster Asterion Moloc.

I've used the shield, chest, forearms, hands and lower legs from the Prosecutors to try and achieve a ancient Greek warrior (in Terminator armour) look. As you can see from the 1st image, he's a little over-sized, but I quite like that, after all terminators are meant to be intimidating!

I've built 2 members of this 5 man squad so far, but my supply of green stuff and pinning material has runout so I need to pick up some more before assembling more.

As I couldn't finish the terminator squad off, I've also got on and put the majority of the Stormeagle together too. Great looking model but it's as difficult to assemble as I'd heard and more green stuff is required to get this finished up too........so I guess a trip to the shops is needed tomorrow!!

So that's it for week one, I want to get the Terminators finished up for next weekend so expect an update on them then.
